NEW YORK, NY (Rykodisc) - Comic cult hero and Rykodisc recording artist James Kochalka Superstar's tune "Hockey Monkey" has been selected as the theme song to the new Fox TV series "The Loop." "The Loop" will premiere on Wednesday, March 15th at 9:30 PM EST, immediately following "American Idol" to an audience of millions of Americans. The show makes its time period premiere on Thursday, March 16 at 8:30 PM ET/PT. Best known as a cult comic book artist ("Monkey Vs Robot," "Sketchbook Diaries"), James Kochalka Superstar is also a musician, having released many previously hard to find albums (through limited distribution). His eccentric and singular work is translated to irresistibly catchy songs, ranging from the full-on power rock of "Talk to the Wookie" to sensitive ballads like "Twinkle Twinkle Ringo Star." Produced by Peter Katis (Interpol) and now available in one deluxe package with a bonus DVD, "Our Most Beloved" compiles the cream of Kochalka's recorded output (and adds a few new recordings) and contains five music videos, including the legendary "Monkey Vs Robot" starring Andy Sambery of Saturday Night Live's "The Chronic of Narnia Rap." "The Loop" is a new Fox series starring Bret Harrison ("Grounded For Life," "The O.C.") as Sam, the youngest executive at the corporate headquarters of a major airline, and the first of his friends to get a real job. The series, which also features Amanda Loncar, Mimi Rogers and Sarah Mason among others, chronicles the life of twenty-something Sam as he enters "real life" and attempts to find the delicate balance between manning a corporate job and goofing off with his pals. Set in Chicago, Sam must find a way to get serious about both his career and the social demands of his three roommates. "THE LOOP" is from Olive Bridge Entertainment and Wounded Poodle Productions in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Pam Brady and Will Gluck are executive producers.
