BURBANK, CA (Reprise Records) -- Riding high on the chart-topping success of their new album "The Black Parade," Reprise Records' My Chemical Romance have announced they will play a series of shows beginning November 29th in Providence, RI.

The shows will no doubt be joyous celebrations for both fans and the band, who are reveling in the success of "The Black Parade." The week after release, the album claimed the Number One spot on SoundScan's Rock, Alternative, Top Albums Retailers, Indy/Small Chain, Internet, and Digital Album Charts. It also shot to Number 2 on Billboard's Top 200 album chart, selling more than 240,000 copies its first week of release. The first single, "Welcome To The Black Parade," has enjoyed six weeks (and counting) at the top of the Alternative / Modern Rock Radio Charts in the U.S. and the singles chart for two consecutive weeks in the UK. It is the New Jersey quintet's highest debut.

The success of "The Black Parade" -- an epic theatrical concept album about mortality -- has been driven by both fan excitement and laudatory press reaction. Blender Magazine posits that, "My Chemical Romance transcended the cliché... to craft a grandiose epic that just might make them the biggest band in the world." Rolling Stone concurs, stating "'The Black Parade' is the best mid-Seventies record of 2006, a rabid, ingenious paraphrasing of echoes and kitsch from rock's golden age of bombast." Entertainment Weekly calls the album "riotously enjoyable... their best album yet," and The New York Times dubs it "a tour de force about coming of age in the post 9/11 era."
