Lupe Fiasco Declared GQ's Breakout Man of the Year; Chicago MC Set for

NEW YORK, NY (Atlantic Records) -- 1st & 15th/Atlantic recording artist Lupe Fiasco has been named one of GQ Magazine's "Men of the Year 2006," receiving the "Breakout" honors on the annual ranking. The critically acclaimed MC -- whose debut album, "LUPE FIASCO'S FOOD & LIQUOR," recently entered Billboard's "Top Rap Albums" chart at #1 -- joins a star-studded roll of icons, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Jay-Z, Will Ferrell, Al Gore, and the cast of "Jackass."

Lupe will celebrate the GQ accolade with an appearance on tonight's broadcast of "Late Show with David Letterman." The Chicago-based rapper will perform his new single, "Daydreamin'," accompanied by Jill Scott, who is featured on the currently rising track. The single's companion video clip -- which also features Scott -- has just entered the running for BET's "106 & Park" countdown.

Along with its #1 debut atop Billboard's "Top Rap Albums" chart, "LUPE FIASCO'S FOOD & LIQUOR" also entered the "Top Hip-Hop/R&B Albums" tally at #2, as well as #8 on the Billboard 200, with first week sales exceeding more than 80,000 units.
