NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - Sears, Roebuck and Co. is offering fans a chance to meet some of Latin musics most explosive talent at its concert stage during its 116th Street Festival Meet a Star with Sears promotion running from May 18, 2002 to June 7, 2002.

Jerry Rivera, Kevin Ceballo and Luis Fonsi will perform at the 116th Street Festival Sears Concert Stage on June 8, 2002, where eight lucky grand prize-winners will receive transportation to and from the event, a chance to meet and take photos with the artists backstage and receive autographs and CDs from Rivera and Ceballo.
Participation in the festival has become as much a tradition for Sears as it has for New Yorkers, said Gilbert Davila, vice president of multi-cultural management and partnership marketing. Sears is proud to sponsor events that recognize the heritage of all Hispanics.

Rivera, a three-time Grammy nominee, is the only tropical/salsa music artist to sell more than five million records worldwide. Riveras second album, Abriendo Puertas (Opening Doors), brought him international attention with songs like Esa Nia (That Girl) and Como un Milagro (Like a Miracle) that hit number one on several U.S. and Latin American charts. Riveras single Ese (Him), his first exploration of the pop/ballad genre, also hit number one on the US Hot Latin Tracks.

New talent Kevin Ceballo released his debut album, Mi Primer Amor (My First Love), in September 2000. The title track rocketed to number one on the Tropical Chart of Radio & Musica, where it remained on the chart for seven weeks. It also reached number two on Billboards Tropical chart in December 2000.

Luis Fonsi is another up-and-coming Puerto Rican performer. After the release of his first album in 1998, Comenzar (I Will Begin), Fonsi was nominated for Latin Billboards Best New Artist. Both Comenzar and his second release, Eterno (Eternal), were given Discos de Oro (Gold Records) from the Recording Industry Association of America. In 2001, Fonsi was listed as one of People en Espaols Most Beautiful Latinos and was invited to perform at the White House in commemoration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
