NEW YORK (Hall & Oates Fans Websites) - John Oates of Hall and Oates will release a solo album under the name Phunk Shui on August 8th. Pfunk Sui finds Oates playing with longtime H&O bassist T-Bone Wolk, Jeff Beck associate Jed Leiber and former Wings drummer Steve Holly.

Meanwhile, Hall and Oates are enjoying are enjoying a resurgence with the release of VH1 Behind The Music: The Daryl Hall & John Oates Collection. The compilation includes three new tracks, "Somebody Like You," "Heartbreak Time" and the new single "Do It for Love," as well as their hits and three live tracks: "Kiss On My List," "She's Gone" and "Every Time You Go Away," which was previously unreleased.

Hall and Oates will be hitting the road with Todd Rundgren, who produced their 1974 album War Babies. And they'll appear on the next episode of Musicians, where they'll perform "Rich Girl," "She's Gone" and "Maneater." "I want you to know I am the most underrated and highly paid background singer in the history of the music business!" John Oates says on the show, which airs on May 27th at 10 p.m. (ET) on the Bravo network.
