Junior Vasquez' win for 'Best Remixer' at the International Dance
Music Awards ceremony held during Winter
Music Conference.
The Internationally renowned 57-year-old producer/DJ/remixer, DJ Junior Vasquez took the coveted title over top remixers of the day, Josh Harris, Mike Rizzo, Lenny B and KlubJumpers.
Junior Vasquez has worked with the biggest names in show business, including Michael Jackson, Madonna, Britney Spears, Barbra Streisand, Beyonce Knowles, and Prince.
Through his evolution as an artist, Vasquez has honed a style of remixing that is at once incomprehensible and irresistible; a wild amalgamation of twisted beats, left-field sampling and seemingly irreconcilable elements magically melded into something far greater than the song's original radio edit. Vasquez creates theater in his tracks. This year, he was recognized for his anthem club hit, Christina Aguilera's 'Ain't No Other Man'.
In addition to his work in the booth, Junior Vasquez is heralded as one of the most influential spinners in the underground club scene. He has consistently transformed venues into the biggest dance floors of their day, including New York's Sound Factory, Tunnel, Arena at Palladium, Twilo and Earth at Exit. On Junior's dance floor, gossip columnists rub elbows with celebrities, club kids mix with muscle studs and glamour girls in an orgy of fantastical debauchery.
Junior Vasquez is currently working on new remixes for Jennifer Hudson, Britney Spears, JC Chasez, Beyonce, Nelly Furtado, Angelique Kidjo, Peter Gabriel, and Jason Walker.
