NEW YORK (Kid Rock Fans Website) - Kid Rock and Lynyrd Skynyrd kick off a two-night stand on Thursday (September 19) at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. It marks the first time the modern rocker and his heroes have officially shared a stage together--Rock previously joined Skynyrd at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan, and, earlier this summer, at the MGM Grand Casino in Detroit. He had hoped to spend the summer touring with Skynyrd, but those plans were changed when he decided to go out with Aerosmith and Run-D.M.C.

Rock tells that he expects that the shows with Skynyrd will be special. "I think it'll just be a good night of music. You know, we have our little antics and stuff we do, but I think people have come--in Detroit--to expect that, and they already know that. But I think it's really just gonna be three-and-a half hours of just really good music and a good time. I think it'd be great just to end the whole night with 'Sweet Home Alabama.'"

Rock and his Twisted Brown Trucker Band are slated to perform at the Farm Aid concert on Saturday (September 21) in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. Their set will include "Picture," the next single from Rock's Cocky album, with country singer Allison Moorer, who recently recorded new parts for the single to replace Rock's duet with Sheryl Crow from the album.
