NEW YORK (RHCP Official Website) - The Red Hot Chili Peppers will spend a healthy chunk of the new year forging through Europe in support of their latest effort, By the Way.

The tour kicks off Jan. 24 in Lisbon, Portugal, and continues through a March 29 date in Stockholm, Sweden, according to the band's official Web site. Mars Volta, which consists of remnants of At the Drive-In, will support beginning March 5 in Glasgow. There was no word at press time on an opening act for the first half of the dates.

Meanwhile, the Chili Peppers will spend the rest of 2002 on tour in Latin and South America, Japan, and Australia/New Zealand.
