NEW YORK (Top 40 Charts) - Carlos Santana continues his crossover path of the past few years by announcing he'll perform with Michelle Branch at the inaugural MTV Video Music Awards Latin America in Miami on Oct. 24.

Santana and Branch will perform a song together from his upcoming album, Shaman, which is due Oct. 15. Last week, Santana performed with hard rockers P.O.D. at the 3rd Annual Latin Grammy? Awards in Los Angeles (allstar, Sept. 12).

In other awards show news, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, and George Strait have been added to the list of performers for country's biggest night, the 36th Annual CMA Awards on Nov. 6 in Nashville.

They join the previously announced Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, and Shania Twain (who hasn't performed on TV since 1999) - at the Grand Ole Opry House. Hill's new album, Cry, will be released Oct. 15. She'll be promoting the project in Japan and Australia before returning to the U.S. two days before the awards show.
The awards will air live on CBS.
