The singer blames his record company for not promoting the band enough in the U.S., saying: "I've sold 27 million records. Out of those maybe 2 million were sold in America." It's been a rough year for the English funksters, they cancelled two huge outdoor festival appearances, Jay Kay battled allegations of assault against a photographer, and Toby Smith, the band's keyboardist, left the band. Jay Kay says that the band will wrap up after their last gig, scheduled for this December. Jay Kay was quoted in the Daily Telegraph saying: "I love the fans dearly, the rest of the crap I just can't deal with." Jay Kay continued to bash the industry saying: "I wanted to make some tunes and sing. But this job is a @#%$ nightmare."
