NEW YORK (Metallica Official Website) - Metallica's James Hetfield has recorded a version of Waylon Jennings' "Don't You Think This Outlaw Bit's Done Got Out of Hand" for an upcoming tribute to the country star due on RCA in February.
Hetfield sings and handles all instrumentation on the track, according to Metallica's official Web site.

Additional artists expected to contribute include Kid Rock, Kenny Chesney, Travis Tritt, Brooks & Dunn, Hank Williams Jr., Ben Harper, Dwight Yoakam, John Mellencamp, George Jones, Emmylou Harris, and Stargunn (Jennings' son Shooter's band), among others.
Jennings passed away this past February (13/2/2001).
