San Francisco, CA. (Top40 Charts/ LoveFest) - Love takes over the streets of San Francisco on Saturday, October 4th at San Francisco LoveFest: A Dance Music Parade and Festival. The parade will start at San Francisco's 2nd and Market Streets and the love will continue all the way to Civic Center Plaza for a giant outdoor dance club for all ages and all people to celebrate music, love, diversity, tolerance, peace, and community. LoveWeek begins with pre-parties on Wednesday, October 1st and the parties continue every night and through the weekend.

"In a time of recession and war, we are taking over the streets and city hall to express and share the values of culture, peace, love, unity, and respect-when we need it the most," said Joshua Smith, founding board member.

San Francisco LoveFest: A Dance Music Parade and Festival was inspired by the Love Parade in Berlin that started in 1989, four months before the demolition of the Berlin wall. Its purpose was to demonstrate for peace and understanding through music. The dance music culture has gone global since then, and is now thriving in San Francisco.

The dynamic team behind the event includes Joshua Smith, John Wood, David Cutler, Dr. Syd Gris and Terrance Alan, all of whom are committed to social activism, community and entertainment. Each member of the board brings their professional expertise combined with their passion for electronic dance music to put on San Francisco's best party, and the largest dance music event in America.

"San Francisco is a national frontrunner in demonstrating how the entertainment community can work with community support and the political system, to pull off an event of this scale and intention," said Dr. Syd Gris, founding board member. "San Francisco's history of being a nexus of music and social consciousness makes it the perfect fit for a free event showing the reach of dance music in America."

Artists at San Francisco LoveFest: A Dance Music Parade and Festival will include Armin Van Burren, voted in DJ Mag 2007 as the current number one DJ in the world, and dozens of others atop the electronic dance music scene who will travel to San Francisco from around the world for various LoveWeek events. This eclectic list of headliners includes Ferry Corsten, Adam Freeland, Above & Beyond, Lee Burridge, ATB, Donald Glaude, Elite Force, Kyau & Albert, Benny Benassi, Rennie Pilgrem, S.O.S., Colette, Dave Dresden, Desyn Masiello, Aquasky, Plaza de Funk, DJ Medhi, Vandal, Green Velvet, Bill Patrick, and much more to be announced in the coming weeks. Add to this San Francisco's own crop of world class talent such as Mark Farina, Kascade, Claude Von Stroke, Deep Voices, Syd Gris and other local talent from up and down the West Coast.

San Francisco LoveFest 2008 highlights the freedom of creative expression, as well as San Francisco's role as the ultimate destination and mecca of the underground electronic dance music scene. San Francisco LoveFest: A Dance Music Parade and Festival is well connected to charities and the local community, and celebrates the ongoing evolution of community.
