CHICAGO, IL. (Top40 Charts/ CMN) - More than 14,000 fans are expected to attend this weekend's show featuring Latin superstar Marc Anthony at New York's Madison Square Garden on Saturday, Feb. 14 (8:00 p.m. EST) as the show has been officially sold-out, announced Cardenas Marketing Network (CMN), producers of the event. One of New York's favorite sons and a fixture in the fast growing Latin pop culture, Anthony is set to take the stage at the famed venue in a special Valentine's Day concert entitled "Concierto del Amor" ("Tribute to Love").

The concert also marks CMN's third straight sold-out show following Mexican artist Ana Gabriel's back-to-back concerts over the weekend at Radio City Music Hall and Rosemont Theatre in New York and Chicago, respectively.

Marc Anthony is one of the most influential Latino artists of this generation. He is not only the biggest-selling salsa artist of all time but also a talented and well-known actor. Marc Anthony first hit the music charts in 1993 with his debut album Otra Nota. It reached the No 1 slot on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart followed by Todo A Su Tiempo (1995). He was later awarded the Tropical Album Grammy in 1998 for Contra La Corriente (1997). In 2002, he won the Billboard awards the "Top Latin Albums/Artist of the Year" and "Tropical/Salsa Album of the Year - Male" for Libre (2001).

Marc Anthony broke English language music charts with the albums Marc Anthony and Mended. Driven in part by the crossover success of his smash single "I Need to Know," his English language debut album, Marc Anthony helped usher the Latin pop explosion in 1999. This album also achieved triple platinum status in the U.S. In addition, Mended (2002), the English language successor to Marc Anthony, debuted at No 3 on the Billboard Top 200 on the week of its release and has sold over 1.3 million copies worldwide.

Marc Anthony has received many renowned distinctions, including numerous Billboard Latin Music Awards. He was also selected by Time Magazine as one of the most influential Latinos in the U.S. His influence was significantly recognized when he was included on the Top 10 list of influential New Yorkers compiled by New York Magazine.

In addition to his distinguished music career, Marc Anthony has built a highly credible acting resume. He has appeared in several films, including "Hackers" (1995), "The Substitute" (1996), "Big Night" (1996), and Martin Scorsese's "Bringing Out the Dead" (1999). He also worked with Selma Hayek in the Showtime original film "In the Time of the Butterflies" (2001), and he appeared with Denzel Washington and Christopher Walken in Tony Scott's "Man On Fire" (2004).

On August 3, 2007, PictureHouse released "El Cantante", a film directed by Leon Ichaso. Anthony stars in this film as the Puerto Rican salsa icon Hector Lavoe, along with Jennifer Lopez as Lavoe's wife Puchi. The "El Cantante" movie soundtrack was released on July 24 under the label Sony Norte. The soundtrack album remained in the No 1 sales spot for 6 consecutive weeks and is still one of the top selling albums of 2007-2008.
