CHICAGO, IL. (Top40 Charts/ Blue Bella Records) - Blue Bella Records announces an April 21 release date for Live at Chan's: Combo Platter No. 2, from Nick Moss and the Flip Tops, the highly anticipated follow up to the Chicago blues band's 2006 album, also recorded live at the venerable haven of Chinese food and blues in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. This time, the band ups the ante by bringing in special guest Lurrie Bell, named 'Blues Artist of the Year' and 'Most Outstanding Guitarist' in the 2008 Living Blues magazine awards.

Recorded during a two-night stand in July, 2008, Live at Chan's: Combo Platter No. 2 beautifully captures all the excitement, soulful performances and musicianship that has made Nick Moss and the Flip Tops one of the most popular bands in blues today. One of the new CDs many delights is hearing Nick Moss and Gerry Hundt display their tremendous versatility on different instruments, with Nick Moss on vocals, guitar and harmonica; and Gerry Hundt on mandolin, vocals, bass and harmonica. Long-time member Willie Oshawny channels Otis Spann on piano and also throws a twist in on the Farfisa organ for one song; and drummer Bob Carter anchors the rhythm section with his solid backbeats.

Nick Moss and the Flip Tops have received extensive critical and fan acclaim for their previous albums and tours, while garnering numerous Blues Music Award nominations, including three last year, among them 'Album of the Year' for the group's Play It 'Til Tomorrow. At the upcoming Blues Music Awards to be held in Memphis on May 7, the group is again up for 'Band of the Year,' plus Gerry Hundt is nominated for 'Best Instrumentalist - Other.'

Live at Chan's: Combo Platter No. 2 shows a band clearly in its element, whether it's killer originals such as the funky blues opening instrumental, 'Spare Ribs & Chopsticks,' and the harmonica-driven 'Fill 'er Up;' or the stone Chicago blues of 'Try to Treat You Right' and 'I Got All Kinds of Love;' or scintillating covers of such greats as Curtis Jones' 'Lonesome Bedroom Blues,' Eddie Boyd's 'Five Long Years' and the Willie Dixon/Muddy Waters classic, 'I'm Ready.' On the latter two cuts, Nick Moss and special guest Lurrie Bell team up for some massive blues guitar interplay that recalls a Saturday night on Chicago's Southside. The excitement and energy that Lurrie Bell brings to the four songs he plays and/or sings on the new disc is palpable. This is how blues was meant to sound!

Nick Moss and the Flip Tops will tour endlessly to support the new album, with Lurrie Bell joining them on a number of the shows. The band is booked by Intrepid Artists International (www.intrepidartists.com).

Blue Bella Records has prepared a special sneak preview site where all of the songs from Live at Chan's: Combo Platter No. 2 can be streamed for play by clicking on this link: https://www.nickmoss.com/pages/chanstwo_press.html. In addition to the songs, the site has some wonderful live pictures taken of the band during the Chan's shows, plus reviewer's quotes and many other items of information about the band.
