Miami, FL (TOP40 Charts/ Tamanae) -- The Colombian band "Tamana" made its debut on Hispanic
Radio in the United States with an outstanding performance. In just three weeks "
Tu Amor" reached # 12 on the most played song list on the radio station "Amor 107.5 FM." This station is the most important musical radio station in South Florida and also in the nation as part of the network "Univision Radio."
"This is a pleasant surprise, and it encourages us to persist in the plan that we have designed to start live performances very soon within the United States," said Roberto Pfizenmaier, director, founder and singer, who was in Miami last week, where he started to organize the first tour for the band across U.S. cities.
"Tu Amor" is the flagship song from the album "Tamana (Luz de Luna)," a production of the prominent Colombian composer and musical director, and twice nominated for Latin Grammy, Gustavo Arenas, and is being marketed by Colombia's renowned record label "Discos Fuentes." Arenas was Shakira's orchestral arranger and director at the Festival of Via del Mar in 1993, where the today renowned Colombian star was awarded third place with her song "Eres."
This 12th place among the most played song list has allowed this song from Tamanae: "Tu Amor" to be ahead of songs performed by well-known singers like Alejandro Sanz (13th place with "Desde Cuando"), Chayanne (14th place with "Me Enamore de Ti") and Shakira (18th place with "Lo hecho, esta hecho").
During his visit to Miami, Roberto Pfizenmaier was on the most listened radio show of South Florida "El Desayuno Musical." He answered questions for more than 30 minutes from Javier Romero, who is a star in Hispanic radio and television. Every Saturday, Romero is on the television show "Sabado Gigante" with Don Francisco, and also every Sunday, he is the announcer of "El Hit Parade de America," which is the most important musical radio show in the United States.
In May 2010 on one of the radio shows "Hit Parade of America" an interview with Roberto of "Tamana" is already scheduled. He will have the opportunity to present the music and history of the group to the public of the main Hispanic cities of the United States.
Over the last three years, Tamana has been consolidating its musical influence in Colombia with successful performances in emblematic night spots of Bogota such as "Rosario," "Kukaramakara," "Punto G," "Palco 93" and "Mama Juana." They have also toured the country with the sponsorship of Motorola, Movistar and Totto.
"This is the right time for the public around the US to start to know our music and style and we are working hard on it," said Roberto, who defines the band musically as a mix of Colombian and Caribbean dance music and ballads.
He also remarked that the band's songs are mainly about love, and in every live performance the fans enjoy a Latino musical mix, which is "pure enjoyment, pure Latino feeling, where they find a bit of everything, from highly danceable music to romantic ballads, which makes the public vibrate to levels that often surprise us."
