Vancouver, BC (TOP40 Charts/ Colette Trudeau) -- The Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards will take place at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on Friday, November 5, 2010. The APCMA's will showcase the best in Aboriginal Music from across North America and will be televised live on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) www.aptn.ca and Bell Express Vu.

Voting has already begun for the 2010 Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards. It continues to blow me away how supportive the Aboriginal community is of their Artists, says Trudeau. To have an amazing television network such as APTN supporting Aboriginal artists through the APCMAs, Rising Star and First Tracks is really giving Aboriginal Artists momentum to make Aboriginal music mainstream." Colette Trudeau is submitted for Best Rock CD, Best Music Video and Aboriginal Songwriter of the Year. The Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards is the best way for Aboriginal artists, such as myself, to showcase our music to larger audiences, says Trudeau.

Colette Trudeau https://aboriginalpeopleschoice.com/artists/colette-trudeau is a Me'tis rock singer/songwriter who first shot to notoriety as the lead singer of LiveonRelease. Since then, Colette has achieved limited mainstream success with her single I Dont Wanna Know reaching top 20 status on CHUM radio stations as well as having her songs featured in movies and television series.

To secure votes for her APCMA submissions, Colette has used social media sites such as Myspace and Facebook to promote herself and has created a How To video on YouTube to offer instructions to the public on voting for the APCMAs. I thought making a short 2 minute video on how to vote for the APCMAs would make the whole process a little easier. Her video can be viewed at: www.youtube.com/colettetrudeau

The Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards voting is open to Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal voters. Everyone and anyone can vote for Colette Trudeau https://aboriginalpeopleschoice.com/artists/colette-trudeau for Best Rock CD. Colette says An Industry vote will take place during round one. Industry professionals across North America can login and cast their votes. Only industry voters will be able to access the industry categories. I am nominated in the Best Music Video and Songwriter of the Year categories so I ask the industry folks to please vote for me. Colette Trudeaus self-titled limited release CD can be purchased or downloaded at: www.cdfreedom.com/colettetrudeau.

When Colette is not working on her music, she is an active member in the Me'tis community. She is currently the Director of Youth for Me'tis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) where she works to ensure the sustainability of the Me'tis Nation by the creation and implementation of effective programming to increase Youth involvement in the governance of the Me'tis Nation. Colette is also an active member of the Unified Aboriginal Youth Collective which brings together urban, rural, on reserve, off reserve Aboriginal Youth to increase Youth involvement in government decision making.

Colette was a participant in the Vancouver Olympic Opening Ceremonies and was part of the Indigenous Youth Gathering where she performed with over 300 First Nations, Inuit and Me'tis Youth from across Canada. She was also chosen to represent Me'tis Youth as a torchbearer for the Olympic torch relay.

Colette www.colettetrudeau.com is now having her songs placed in feature films and TV shows. Her song No Friend of Mine appears on 2 episodes of South of Nowhere, Dont Say Goodbye was added to the movie The Breakup Artist in 2009 and Freeze will be part of the upcoming 2010 release of Dancing Ninja.
