BURBANK, CA (Warner Bros) - An American favorite, The Goo Goo Dolls, will pay homage to their hometown of Buffalo, New York with a free historic Fourth of July concert on the steps of City Hall. Fellow Buffalo native Ani Difranco will open the show. The performance, which is The Goo Goo Dolls' way of thanking the city that supported them as a band through the years, will be filmed and released as a live DVD later this year on Warner Bros. Records. The DVD will contain exclusive material, including special, behind the scenes footage as well as the entire explosive set. The Goo Goo Dolls hometown concert is expected to feature material spanning the length of their extraordinary career, including selections from their latest Warner Bros. Records release, "Gutterflower," as well as such global hits as "Iris," "Slide," "Black Balloon" and "Broadway." Acclaimed for their electrifying live performance, The Goo Goo Dolls have become a top international concert draw with a near constant touring schedule that has earned them a fervent following on five continents. The trio has recently completed a barnstorming worldwide tour following the release of "Gutterflower." As with past tours, The Goo Goo Dolls will continue their relationship with USA HARVEST in helping to feed the needy. The band is asking all their fans to bring canned goods to the concert for local volunteers to collect and distribute. USA HARVEST is the largest volunteer food collection organization in America delivering over 380 million pounds of food annually, to those less fortunate. The holiday concert is a production of Buffalo Place Inc., a local business improvement district, in cooperation with Clear Channel Entertainment Buffalo.
