NASHVILLE, TN (USA Network press release) - The Nashville Star Tour just completed its first week on the road bringing to concert life the popular USA Network's Nashville Star show. Fans from stop to stop are getting to experience the excitement and energy of the show all over again as the show's top four contenders take to the concert stage.
All went extremely well and venue operators seem pleased with the results. "Everything ran surprisingly smooth for kicking off a new tour," says Kyle Gustie of 262 Five, Ltd., the company producing The Nashville Star Tour. "No one was left behind at a truckstop, there was only one little mechanical issue with the bus, and there weren't even any good old-fashioned spats between tourmates," he jokes. "Ahh, but never fear, we have at least another 20 or so dates left on this tour."
According to representatives at the William Morris Agency, the company booking the show, the response to this tour has been really strong. "I still have people calling us from as far away as Canada wanting to add dates to the tour," says Rob Beckham, responsible agent for the tour. "Owensboro's already approaching 'sellout' status."
"We are extremely happy with this home run show," explains Jo Nell Reich, director of marketing, Executive Inn Rivermont, Owensboro, KY, "We're thrilled to be bringing the Nashville Star Tour to our area, and the caliber of the show has helped me in the marketing of this event. With two months left we have fewer than 100 seats left. We are excited about the show and the sold out crowd."
The Nashville Star Tour, a package of young country talent, features Brad Cotter, George Canyon, Matt Lindahl, and Lance Miller. Cotter, who won the Nashville Star television competition, now records for Epic Records, a contract that was part of his winner's package. Canyon, who finished second in the Nashville Star voting, has since signed a recording agreement with Universal South.
Cotter's first single, "I Meant To," was released May 3 and broke 2003 winner Buddy Jewell's record for the highest chart debut by a new country artist. His debut album, PATIENT MAN, is scheduled for release July 6. Fans can expect Canyon's first single to hit the airwaves before summer's end.
The Tour recreates the energy and feel of the USA Network's television series. Video screens run highlights of each performer's segments from the television series throughout the concert. The Nashville Star Band, the same group from the television show, is traveling with the tour and backing up each performer. The Tour, which kicked off June 18 in Kettering, Ohio, will stop in nearly 30 cities by the end of August.
Nashville Star television show, airing for the second straight season on the USA Network, is a combination talent search and reality series that aims to find the next country music superstar. Contestants are judged by industry executives and artists. Fans also help determine the weekly survivors through telephone and online voting.
