Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Of Red Dawn Set For Release On November 19, 2012
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Sony Music) Sony Music is pleased to announce the release of RED DAWN, the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Ramin Djawadi, available on November 19, 2012.  The score accents the inspiring film about war and patriotism. Ramin has composed a powerful score for this action film that features a variety of moods to match the sensitive and comic moments of the movie.

Ramin Djawadi, (Java-Dee) German-born (Iranian father and German mother), graduated from Berklee School of Music in Boston and attracted the attention of Los Angeles based composer Hans Zimmer, which led to several successful collaborations such as Batman Begins, Something's Gotta Give and Thunderbirds.

Ramin might be best known for his Grammy nominated, guitar driven score to Iron Man, but his repertoire covers a wide variety of genres. From his lush animated scores for Open Seasons, Sammy's Adventure 1 & 2, to this year's percussion driven hit film, Safe House starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. Clash of The Titans was another action film that received a lot of attention world-wide and his work on action movies made Djawadi a natural choice for composing Red Dawn. Other works include David Goyer's Blade: Trinity, the horror thriller The Unborn, and television series Flash Forward. Ramin has garnered fans with writing the music for the new hit television shows, Game of Thrones, Person of Interest as well as the Prison Break series.

The first track, Red Dawn, sets the tone with complex clashing rhythms over the full sound of orchestral strings. This combination continues with Wolverines, and in the ensuing tracks Invasion and I'm Gonna Fight the music gains a more martial, even dissonant character. The tracks that give strong back-up to action are interspersed with quieter moments, such as the contemplative The Execution, the calmer interlude of What Do You Miss?, and the lyrical, hopeful theme of Erica. The excitement of the music grows in A Marine and His Rifle and Jed's Death, before the Finale starts in subdued mood and moves on to a serene, then triumphant conclusion.

About the film
In Red Dawn, a city in Washington state awakens to the surreal sight of foreign paratroopers dropping from the sky - shockingly, the U.S. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target. Quickly and without warning, the citizens find themselves prisoners and their town under enemy occupation. Determined to fight back, a group of young patriots seek refuge in the surrounding woods, training and reorganizing themselves into a guerilla group of fighters. Taking inspiration from their high school mascot, they call themselves the Wolverines, banding together to protect one another, liberate their town from its captors, and take back their freedom.

The film will open in theatres nationwide on November 21.
