MIAMI (Latin Recording Academy) - An impressive star-studded roster already has confirmed for the 2004 Latin Recording Academy Person Of The Year tribute honoring
Carlos Santana.
George Lopez and Cheech Marin will co-host and
Quincy Jones will be the Executive Producer of the tribute gala to take place Monday Aug. 30, 2004 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.
Black Eyed Peas, Cafe Quijano, Fher of Mana, La Ley, Dave Matthews, Ozomatli, Robi Rosa,
Rob Thomas and
Julieta Venegas are confirmed to perform, in addition to a special musical performance by the honoree himself. Additional celebrity attendees will be announced soon.
Carlos Santana will receive the honor of the 2004 Latin Recording Academy Person Of The Year for his professional, cultural and philanthropic accomplishments. The celebrity gala honoring Santana will feature a dinner and dazzling tribute concert with performances by many of today's great musical talents.
A portion of the proceeds from the Latin Recording Academy Person Of The Year tribute will benefit the MusiCares(R) Foundation, which ensures that music people have a place to turn in times of financial, medical and personal need.
