Dj/Producer Hisham Samawi turns to Stanton's finalscratch

NEW YORK (www.finalscratch.com) - Born in Libya and raised in Switzerland, Hisham Samawi is quickly becoming one of the most respected new artists emerging from New York's dance music scene. As a DJ, Hisham implements an amalgam of obscure tracks to create epic dance floor odysseys that have earned him high praise from industry press and fellow DJs. Samawi was recently honored by URB magazine with their "Best New Tune" award ("Cowbell" by the Dirty Gringos) at the 2003 Winter Music Conference. Two new original tracks by Samawi can be found on the artist's debut release on the Native Theory label, and several new original tracks are slated for release later this year. The busy DJ spent the early part of 2004 touring Asia with headlining gigs in Bangkok, Singapore and Dubai, as well as journeying back to the States to grace the decks at major New York clubs including Centro-Fly, Discotheque, Filter 14, and Sullivan Room. He's also often working his magic with his FinalScratch system in cities such as Charlotte, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami.
