LOS ANGELES (Capitol Records) - On August 10th Capitol Records will release It's Already Written, the debut album from Los Angeles-based R&B singer Houston. With the first single, "I Like That," already a Top 3 smash and over 65 Million listeners at radio, huge spins at BET, MTV and MTV2, and live television performances scheduled on Jimmy Kimmel Live on August 10th and MTV's TRL on August 12th, this 20 year old artist is poised to make some noise. From the very start "I Like That" has been a formidable force at R&B and Top 40 radio. The track, which features Chingy, Nate Dogg and I-20 and production by the famed St. Louis-based Trak Starz, was an instant hit at radio and on the video channels. A $51 million ad campaign by McDonald's that featured the single prominently as the music bed helped to solidify Houston's position as one of the most anticipated new artists of the year. Houston has already brought his high-energy live show to several television outlets, performing earlier this summer on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, the WB's Pepsi Smash and Soul Train. The print media have also embraced the singer out of the box. With a feature already on the stands in Vibe Magazine, and forthcoming pieces scheduled in Seventeen, Teen People, XXL's Hip Hop Soul and others, R&B and Hip Hop fans across the country eagerly await the August 10th release of It's Already Written.
Houston, a Los Angeles-native, came up singing on street corners and at talent contests before gaining the attention of Capitol Records executives. On It's Already Written, Houston's unique style seamlessly unites R&B and Hip-Hop genres into something entirely new and different, and will undoubtedly help make this summer one of the hottest in recent memory.
