MIAMI, FL. (Latin Recording Academy) - The Latin Recording Academy in conjunction with production partner Unipro Group today announced the kickoff of the Latin GRAMMY Street Parties, which will take place on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, in Chicago. This will be the first of numerous street parties taking place during the month of August that will help bring the Latin GRAMMY experience to the streets prior to the upcoming landmark telecast of the 5th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards on Sept. 1.
Each Latin GRAMMY Street Party will take place on a weekend day from noon - 6 p.m. local time. Following is a listing of the Latin GRAMMY Street Parties and the hot roster of artists currently scheduled across the country:
Aug. 8 - Chicago @ Hawthorne Park
Featuring: Melina Leon (Pop/Ballad), Ivy Queen (Reggaeton), Alicia Machado (Pop), Los Panchis (Regional Mexican), El Guapo (Spanish Rock), Grupo El Momento (Banda/Durango), Mikey Perfecto (Reggaeton), El Rival (Regional Mexican) and more.
Aug. 15 - Miami @ Little Havana (around 8th St. & 27th Ave.)

The 5th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will be held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sept. 1 and will be broadcast domestically by the CBS Television Network from 8-10 p.m. (ET/PT).
