ALLIANCE, OH. (https://fionnafaulk.tripod.com) - Fionna Faulk, a singer, guitarist, percussion player and songwriter from Alliance, OH will release her debut album "Acoustic Rockabye" on August 18. With influences as diverse as Norah Jones, Incubus, Lauryn Hill, Lori McKenna and The Dixie Chicks, Fionna delivers a CD full of well crafted songs her listeners can relate to, rather than concerning herself with attempting to produce the 'next hit.' Grammy nominee Robert Lockwood Jr. says: "She gon' make it.she got the drive."

Unlike a lot of the mainstream pop songs out today, Fionna's lyrics are very personal and are always written by herself alone. "I think the fact that I combine quality lyrics with 'catchy melodies and hooks' allows me stand out from the crowd a bit more," she explains. With some help and inspiration from her sister, Fionna Faulk wrote her first song on the guitar in the summer of 2002 - a week after she began playing the instrument.
"Friends and family would tell me about people who were playing their songs at restaurants and bookstores," Fionna recalls her very first days in the business. "I called up the Mustard Seed Market & Café in Montrose, OH and left them a message stating that they 'needed me to play at their establishment'. They asked me to come up and audition in person.
I did, and they booked me twice for each month leading up to the end of the summer."
So - this self-taught singer/songwriter/guitarist got her first paid gig. Today, in her final year at Hiram College - Fionna has many gigs, venues, and songs under her belt.
"My hope is that one day my music reaches as many as many people as it possibly can," Fionna says. "I just want my music to be available to someone who needs to know that there is someone out there they can relate to, so they know they're not alone in this world."
"Acoustic Rockabye" will be available at CDBaby and TowerRecords.com from August 18.
