HOLLYWOOD, CA (Positive Tone/EMI Music Malaysia/ www.toophat.com.my) - Joe Flizzow from Too Phat (Positive Tone/EMI Music Malaysia) will be making his historic first performance in the United States at one of America's premier events that features artists of Asian descent from throughout the United States and Asia by headlining the 3rd Annual Dragon's Roar Music and Arts Showcase Festival on Friday: September 17, 2004. This greatly anticipated event features an unprecedented line-up of top talent from the Asian/Asian Pacific American communities gathered together for a day-long musical uprising at one of Hollywood's best known venue – 'The Sunset Room.'

Joining Joe Flizzow from Too Phat (through the courtesy of Tourism Malaysia, and Malaysian Airlines), at the 3rd Annual Dragon's Roar Music & Arts Showcase Festival will be the first West Coast/United States appearances of acclaim artists such as Singapore's Skye, Washington D.C.'s The Speaks. Cleveland/San Francisco-based Finless Brown and New York-based Maggie Kim – along with the reunion concert of the 'All Girls Group' and music icons from the Philippines – Prettier than Pink. Other cutting edge acts that will be heard at the festival's three stages include Cambodian Pop meets Psychedelic Rock band Dengue Fever, NYC-based Indian/Japanese comedian Daniel Nainan, Seattle's Mion – Korean pop/R&B artist, long time Southern California favorite Dig Jelly, Bay Area's Vietnamese rapper Csteroc, Filipino Christian alternative music of Airlia, San Diego's Korean punk/pop/rock band Nemo, the jazz/reggae influenced music of Black Wish, the emo-rock of Anzu and New York's Nuyorasian/trip-hop/spoken word antics of Slanty Eyed Mama.

Too Phat have received many accolades from prominent people from the United States and Asia. Some of these comments are listed below:
'Apart from the rock and pop tunes which is the staple for the stations, Too Phat offers a very refreshing genre of music which is gradually accepted by fans. Couple with their success in Malaysia, we think there is a good potential for the band here.' Valerie Lim, Managing Director, EMI Music Singapore
'Too Phat is a great artist, with the potential to cross borders never crossed before by any Asian artist. We are behind them all the way.' Norman Cheng, the president of EMI Music Asia.
'Warren G and G-Funk supports Too Phat all the way.' Warren G – American Rap Star
'We like these guys, their music is excellent and they stay true to who they are. That's very important in hip-hop. We can't wait to show Europe what these Asian guys can do! They'll definitely make a mark in Europe.' Danny Ansari, CEO of Propergamble Records (Too Phat's European distributor operating out of Germany)

Too Phat's latest c.d. ('360') features 4 other hip-hop artists from across the world: Promoe of Loop Troop from Sweden, Weapon X from Australia, Freestyle of Brooklyn, US and Vandal from Canada. These hip-hop artists are well-known underground hip-hop stars in their respective countries and helped to create a strong vibe from the core hip-hop communities in these 4 countries.
"When we had the opportunity to develop our own festival, we wanted it to reflect our eclectic taste," stated event founder J. Lee of US Asians Entertainment. "We chose the name because we wanted the festival itself to represent the strength of a powerful force's, such as a Dragon, need to loudly express itself and we wanted to tap acts such as Joe Flizzow from Too Phat (through the curtesy of Tourism Malaysia and Malaysian Airlines), that we thought were leaders on the cutting edge or breaking ground musically."

Beyond offering some of today's most exciting and inciting music, the 3rd Annual Dragon's Roar is providing the opportunity for concert-goers and online voters to have a direct voice in selecting a performing artist (those not on a major label) to be offered a recording contract by Seattle-based Know It All Records.

The Dragon's Roar Showcase Festival is an unparalleled cutting-edge musical experience in the heart of the entertainment industry which features over 15 acts spread out over 3 stages at Hollywood's famous 'The Sunset Room.' Jason Baquilod (Executive Producer/Host/D.J. of "Pinoy Rock with Jason Baquilod" as heard on WRNN Radio Pinoy - https://www.pinoyradio.net)' stated 'This is an exciting event, something long awaited for.
This will hopefully show the talents and creativity of Asians for the world to see. I'm hoping that this will continue as an annual event for many years to come. I hope to be part of this for many years to come.' The Asia Pacific Arts E-Zine's (September 12, 2003) reported that it (2003 event) 'realized that maybe it wasn't about Asian American music but about Asian Americans in music.' Gene Boggs of Boggs and Nishii stated 'We're very excited about being a part of Dragon's Roar. It is always fun to be on the cutting edge.'
