New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Michael Martinez PR) Brooklyn-based alt-rock trio Nursing Home have just released their debut self-titled EP. Clocking in at just 16 minutes, the 4 songs showcase a polished hybrid of modern rock and electronics spiked with Industrial synth distortion and vintage Heavy Metal riffs. The trio, comprised of singer Justin Symbol, guitarist Alessio Casalini and drummer Alexey Artemov, recorded the EP at Quad Studios in Times Square after testing the songs live in shows throughout the tri-state area - opening for Industrial rock bands Orgy and BILE - and remixing material by original Marilyn Manson guitarist Daisy Berkowitz.
The EP opens with a frantic digital synth intro, building tension, which quickly explodes into the crushing singles "PCP" and "Car Crash Life". What follows are two deeper cuts, "Tokyo Innuendo" and "Carousel". As a whole the package is tight and cohesive, balancing strong hooks with sonic experimentation, and hints at many exciting directions the band can explore in future work.
The EP is accompanied by a music video for "PCP" directed by Brooklyn-based visual artist Worm Carnevale, features lead singer Justin Symbol stumbling through a nightmarish urban landscape. He is pursued by mysterious cloaked figures, later revealed to be the band members themselves. Symbol hallucinates, poisoned by a toxic purple cloud, leaving the viewer to question what, if anything that occurs is actually real.
The EP was released on a customized USB key engraved with the band's logo, also containing a pdf booklet and a high-resolution copy of the "PCP" music video. All of these are also available via the band's website: https://www.nursinghomeband.com.
