NEW JERSEY (NJ Reggae Festival announcement) - St. Vincent born Kevin Lyttle, one of the acts booked to headline the 4th annual New Jersey Reggaefest 2K4 is proving anew one of music's most important tenets: that just one person, with one daring idea, can convert an entire nation full of listeners, fans, and musicians. His eclectic and innovative fusion of music - traditional soca, American R&B, and Jamaican dancehall - has set the entire US on fire, and has boomed across dance floors worldwide in a phenomenal two-year run. For Rankine, having Lyttle on board adds firepower to an already strong line up.
"Lyttle is the hottest act right now in the US. His single 'Turn Me On' has hit No 2 in the UK, it had a ten-week run at the No 1 spot in Denmark, hit No 2 in Germany, Holland, and Norway, No 3 in Australia and Switzerland, No 4 in Italy, No 5 in Sweden and is currently a top ten single here in the US. He is extremely popular in the tri-state area, plus he has huge crossover appeal. I am confident he will do well here in New Jersey" Rankine was quoted as saying.

Dancehall fireman Capleton, Bounty Killer, Assassin, Vybez Kartel, Macka Diamond, KC Jockey; Fifth Element recording artistes Richie Spice, Chuck Fenda and veteran artiste Cocoa Tea, a long time favorite of New Jersey completes the acts confirmed for the big festival.
"Over the years, we have had memorable performances from Elephant Man, Beenieman, Capleton and Cocoa Tea. This year I am hoping the performers will again deliver stellar performances," Rankine said.

And he has good reason to feel confident given that Macka Diamond is on a roll, Bounty is always a huge crowd puller, KC Jockey is on the verge of blowing up internationally, Assassin and Vybez Kartel are hot while Richie Spice is creating waves with hits singles 'Earth A Run Red' and 'Marijuana.'

The NJ Reggaefest takes place at the Newark Symphony Hall Terrance Parking Lot, 1030 Broad Street, downtown Newark, New Jersey on Sunday September 19th 2004. Tickets are available at G City Records in NJ, Moodies Records in the Bronx and VP Records in Queens.
