BURBANK, Calif., (Hollywood Records) - As "Smallville" fans know, the Man of Steel was once the Teen of Steel, and he had plenty of cool tunes on his iPod. To prove the point, Hollywood Records is set to release a CD of songs heard in the hit WB series "Smallville." Comprised of an eclectic assemblage of bands, the "Smallville" CD features songs that have been or will be heard on the show. The Hollywood soundtrack CD arrives in stores November 8. On its new night the Season Five premiere of "Smallville" delivered The WB's strongest performance ever in the 8 - 9 pm time slot with 5.9 million viewers. The show continues to break records for The WB on Thursday nights. In keeping with "Smallville's" contemporary retelling of the Superman saga, all of the artists' songs included on the album either have been or will be featured on episodes of the show, among them Breaking Benjamin, Josh Kelley, Diamond Nights, Flashlight Brown, and Stereophonics. The "Smallville" CD contains the following tracks: "Forget It" by Breaking Benjamin; a Goth rock cover of the Chris Isaak classic "Wicked Game" by HIM; "Almost Honest" by Josh Kelley; "Girl's Attractive" by Diamond Nights; The All-American Rejects with their Alternative/Top 40 hit "Dirty Little Secret"; "I'm A Human" by Flashlight Brown; "Feels Like Today" by Rascal Flatts; "Precious" the latest single from Depeche Mode; "All The Money Or Simple Life Honey" (Alan Moulder mix) by Dandy Warhols; "Superman" by Stereophonics; "You and Me" by Lifehouse (the "Wedding Version" of a # 1 Hot A/C hit single performed on the series last season); "Cold Hands" by Brendan Benson; "Other Side of the World" by K.T. Tunstall; and Minnie Driver's take on Bruce Springsteen's "Hungry Heart." The "Smallville" CD was executive produced by the show's Miles Millar and Alfred Gough.
