NEW YORK, NY (Columbia Records) - Music With A Twist / Columbia Records announce the release of L Tunes: Music From And Inspired By THE L WORD, a collection of songs by a host of talented ladies for the lovely ladies that love them. This release coincides with the premiere of THE L WORD Season 4 on Sunday, January 7 at 10:00 PM ET/PT. The album will be available on Tuesday, January 2, 2007.

'L Tunes' is a collection of tracks that musically reflect the rich and substantial content showcased in the groundbreaking smash hit Showtime television series. The CD combines new and classic music from lesbian artists as well as 'lesbian adjacent' female artists, including the lead-in track, Kirsten Price's "Magic Tree," as well as songs by Goldfrapp, Fiona Apple, Prototypes, Johnny Boy, Pink, Kelis, Da Brat featuring Cherish, PJ Harvey, Nina Simone, Tori Amos, The Cliks, Peaches, and BETTY.

THE L WORD returns for its 4th season on SHOWTIME, Sunday, January 7. It stars Jennifer Beals, Laurel Holloman, Mia Kirshner, Leisha Hailey, Katherine Moennig, Rachel Shelley, Daniela Sea, Dallas Roberts and Pam Grier. Newest additions to the cast include Cybill Shepherd, Marlee Matlin, Janina Gavankar and Rose Rollins. Special guest stars include Rosanna Arquette, Eric Roberts, Bruce Davison, Kristanna Loken and Jane Lynch.

Music With A Twist, launched in 2006, is the first major record label dedicated to identifying and developing lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, and transgender (LGBT) artists along with creating innovative music compilations with a distinctly gay "twist." A joint venture between Sony Music Label Group/Columbia Records and Logo network founder Matt Farber's Wilderness Media & Entertainment, TWIST is a home for gay artists of all genres to experience mainstream success without having to compromise any part of their identity. TWIST artists benefit from access to and exposure through the network of gay media brands in the Wilderness Media & Entertainment portfolio and are introduced to a wider mainstream audience through the Sony Music/Columbia Records marketing, promotion, and distribution channels.
