LOS
ANGELES (www.thepinkbraceletfund.org) To raise awareness for breast
cancer research and to honor Melissa Etheridge in her personal fight
against the disease, a new nonprofit organization has donated specially
designed pink bracelets which will be included in the famous GRAMMY(R)
Gift Baskets, given to the presenters and performers of the 47th Annual
GRAMMY(R) Awards. The Pink Bracelet Fund(TM) was founded in October
2004 by fans of Melissa Etheridge, after she was diagnosed with breast
cancer. The goal of the organization is to raise money, in Melissa's
honor, to support breast cancer research, by selling specially designed
bracelets inscribed with a famous Etheridge quote, "Be Strong(TM)." The
bracelets cost $5.00 each and all proceeds go to the Dr. Susan Love
Research Foundation to aid in the fight against breast cancer. "The
Pink Bracelet Fund(TM) has already raised more than $200,000, thanks to
the support of Melissa Etheridge's fans," said Lauri Bettencourt,
founder, The Pink Bracelet Fund. "We were thrilled to be included in
the GRAMMY(R) Gift Baskets which provides an opportunity for Melissa's
peers to demonstrate their support by wearing one of the bracelets on
February 13th." The Pink Bracelet Fund(TM) is a tax-exempt organization as defined in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Go to https://www.thepinkbraceletfund.org for more information.
