Kelly Lang and T.G. Sheppard Announce Engagement
Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Intersound Records) - We all know that April showers bring May flowers but for country singer/songwriter, Kelly Lang and longtime love, country legend T.G. Sheppard (shown here backstage at the Grand Ole Opry on April 27, 2007, before their duet performance), love has been blooming for quite some time. Just a few days prior to her Opry debut, Sheppard "Finally" (one of T.G.'s hit songs) asked Lang to marry him.

The couple has been dating for more than six years and Lang's longtime fans, who have been carefully monitoring this romantic liaison, are quite pleased about the forthcoming marriage and have been unanimously saying "It's About Time" (the title of Lang's previous album).

Sheppard says, "I couldn't be happier, after all, I am going to marry this amazingly talented and beautiful woman who, luckily for me, is also my very best friend."

As for Lang, she can tell you the exact moment she knew this was the man she wanted to marry; it was during her battle with breast cancer and chemotherapy had claimed all of her hair. During one particularly difficult day, as she stood in front of T.G. feeling totally defeated, she says, "He kissed me on my bald head, lifted my face, looked right into my eyes, told me that I was the most beautiful woman in the world and that he would never leave me, and I knew he meant it. Now that's a man I look forward to spending the rest of my life with."

Lang just released her sophomore album titled Jagged Edges. The album contains seventeen songs; six she wrote by herself and the rest were co-written with good friends Lorrie Morgan and Mark Oliverius. The title definitely belies the album content which has received rave reviews for its heartfelt lyrics and soothing instrumental content. Track seven, "I'm Not Going Anywhere," will be featured in the new Burt Reynolds movie, "Deal," due to be released in August.

The wedding will take place sometime this summer, and Lang is excited that they plan on making their residence in her 'dream home' in Hendersonville, Tennessee. The couple says that their honeymoon will have to be worked in around SheppardĂs intense tour schedule.

Lang has two daughters from a previous marriage, Payton (15) and Kennedy (11). Sheppard has a son, Jason (37). All are thrilled with the union.
