LOS ANGELES (Geffen/UMe) - Romantic R&B received a jolt of bad-boy rebellion in the '90s first with
Jodeci and then when one set of that group's brothers, Cedric ("K-Ci") and Joel ("JoJo"), went their own way. K-Ci & JoJo's impassioned R&B in a hip-hop world earned platinum albums and a string of major hits. Now, for the first time, the best of
K-Ci & JoJo has been brought together with ALL MY LIFE: THEIR GREATEST HITS and the DVD "All My Life: Their Greatest Video Hits" (Geffen/UMe), released February 8, 2005.
ALL MY LIFE: THEIR GREATEST HITS boasts 18 selections, including every R&B charter, spanning each of the duo's four albums, their most popular soundtrack contributions and a Babyface "Unplugged" collaboration - all digitally remastered.
"All My Life: Their Greatest Video Hits" gathers all 13 of their music videos, including two tracks not heard on THEIR GREATEST HITS ("Fee Fie Foe Fum" and "It's Me"), plus a bonus alternate version of "Tell Me It's Real." Remastered in 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound, 5.1 DTS Surround Sound and Dolby Stereo, the DVD also features a programmable video playlist.
The first break from Jodeci came with K-Ci's cover of Bobby Womack's "If You Think You're Lonely Now" (No 11 R&B/#17 pop) for the platinum soundtrack to 1994's "Jason's Lyric." The brothers then teamed for "How Could You" (No 16 R&B) for the 1996 "Bulletproof" soundtrack.
Both cuts then appeared on their debut album, LOVE ALWAYS, in 1997. A triple platinum, Top 10 smash, LOVE ALWAYS also featured "You Bring Me Up (No 7 R&B/ No 26 pop), "Last Night's Letter" (No 15 R&B), "Don't Rush (Take Love Slowly)" and the sweet ballad that took K-Ci & JoJo to the top, the No 1 R&B/#1 pop "All My Life."
Before their next album was issued, Jodeci was put on indefinite hold and the brothers were heard on the gold Babyface album MTV UNPLUGGED NYC 1997 with "I Care About You" and the gold soundtrack album for "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" ("Never Say Never Again") and platinum disc for "The Prince of Egypt" ("Through Heaven's Eyes").
Following LOVE ALWAYS, 1999's IT'S REAL went platinum and once more cracked the Top 10, led by the No 2 R&B/ No 2 pop "Tell Me It's Real." ALL MY LIFE: THEIR GREATEST HITS also culls that album's "Life" (No 15 R&B) and "Girl." Celebrating a decade in the record business, the Haileys unveiled X in 2000 and the Top 10 R&B/Top 20 pop album again scored platinum, propelled by the No 11 pop hit "Crazy" and fan favorites "Wanna Do You Right" and "I Can't Find The Words." K-Ci & JoJo's most recent album was late 2002's EMOTIONAL, which peaked in the R&B Top 20 and included "This Very Moment," "Special" and "Down For Life."
ALL MY LIFE: THEIR GREATEST HITS and "All My Life: Their Greatest Video Hits" are down for love and down for K-Ci & JoJo.
