NEW YORK (Tunetrader) Independent artists looking to promote their music will now have the opportunity to gain unique exposure and earn money by registering their tracks with Tunetrader at www.tunetrader.com. The UK-based company in Portsmouth is open to receiving demo submissions online or by post as of the beginning of 2005. Their service is to provide musicians with a platform from which to promote their music to production companies and record labels by arranging licensing deals and placements in advertising, television and film.

Tunetrader brings independent artists the familiar power to distribute and promote their music online, with the added (and more lucrative) opportunity to control the licensing of their tracks. The company aims to take online music promotion in a new direction, opening up marketing avenues for the unsigned artist.

The registration process is user-friendly and free of charge, inviting artists to submit as many tracks as they wish as well as biographic information and photos/artwork. Once registered, artists will have access to their own profile page, from which they can follow the commercial progress of their music and promote their tracks, albums and live show information.

"We realized the potential to promote independent artists through licensing when we saw how sophisticated low-budget recording had become," says Tunetrader's manager Nick Hooper. "We want to give unsigned artists with great sounding records a chance to broaden horizons with their music, and the best place to start in today's industry is online".
