SANTA MONICA, CA. (The Recording Academy) - The Recording Academy:
- Lineup of Performers to Include the Black Eyed Peas, Chic Featuring Nile Rodgers with Special Guest Musiq Soulchild, Deborah Cox, John Legend, and DJs Paul Oakenfold and Brian "BT" Transeau
- Recording Academy Partners with Along Came Mary Productions to Produce Highly Anticipated Top Music Industry Event for the First Time at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Feb. 13

The 2005 GRAMMY Celebration Party, an exclusive invitation-only, star-studded event, will take place for the first time at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Feb. 13 following the 47th Annual GRAMMY Awards, it was announced today by The Recording Academy. The gala - the largest ever produced by the Academy - attracts GRAMMY winners and nominees, music industry executives and celebrities who attended the live telecast. The 47th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be broadcast live from STAPLES Center at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) and televised on the CBS Television Network.

The GRAMMY Celebration Party is one of the entertainment industry's most lavish events and a post-GRAMMY telecast highlight, with an all-star lineup of live entertainment including: the Black Eyed Peas, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers with special guest Musiq Soulchild, Deborah Cox, John Legend, Paul Oakenfold, Brian "BT" Transeau, and the Gibson/Baldwin GRAMMY High School Jazz Ensembles. Other celebrities and Recording Academy officers and members also will attend.

"It's one thing to celebrate Music's Biggest Night(TM) in front of an international television audience, but it's quite another to continue that celebration afterwards with winners, nominees, VIPs, and enthusiastic music lovers all at one elegant soiree," said Neil Portnow, President of The Recording Academy. "We never want GRAMMY Sunday to end, so having a giant party with fantastic food, a great vibe and terrific live performances is the best way to top off the day!"

The Recording Academy once again will partner with highly regarded event producers Along Came Mary (ACM) to produce the post-telecast GRAMMY Celebration Party, overseeing all of the event entertainment, decor, menu, and other logistics. ACM and its design and lighting team will take the vast convention space and transform it into a chic nightclub for 6,000. A mainstay in the entertainment industry, ACM has masterfully orchestrated many of Hollywood's most distinguished events and has been named top caterer in the nation by numerous publications. The Recording Academy has hired Along Came Mary to co-produce the GRAMMY Celebration Party six times, as well as both the 1st, 3rd and 5th Annual Latin GRAMMY post-parties.

The event's menu will feature more than 70 buffets with fare that ranges from American bistro to Pan-Pacific to Latin to seared Ahi Tuna Sashimi bars and masterful desserts. Highlights include: Caramelized Onion Glazed Sirloin Served on Olive & Potato Rolls with Green Peppercorn Au Jus Red Pepper Aioli, Maytag Bleu Cheese Bread Pudding, Ahi Tuna Martinis, Rock Shrimp and Scallop Shooters, Tequila Cured Salmon, Red Thai Chicken Salad, Fireworks Fried Rice, Goat Cheese & Mint Tamales, Mini Macadamia Nut Squares, Butter Berry Tarts, Creme Brulee Tarts, and ACM founder Mary Micucci's Signature Warm Brownie Pudding.

The 2005 GRAMMY Celebration Party, presented by Heineken, also will feature wines and spirits provided by Patron Tequila, Belvedere Vodka, Pyrat Rum, Forest Glen Wines and Domaine Laurier Champagne.

This year's GRAMMY Celebration Party not only will take place in a new venue, but it also will approach the traditional "gifting" of our guests in a whole new way. This year, The Recording Academy has partnered with gifting company Distinctive Assets to create a specially designed area where guests will be able to preview luxury products provided by companies such as Memorex, 7 UP, Verizon, LANCEL, Invicta, Lords, DCA, Phaze 8, Adhikari, Dr. Kerry Assil of the Assil-Sinskey Eye Institute, Palmetto Bluff Resort, Royal Order, TIGI, and more. These companies will be showcasing special surprises that will delight party guests while redefining the traditional party gift bag.
