NASHVILLE, TN. (NSAI) - The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) will present the 13th annual Tin Pan South Monday, April 4th through Saturday, April 9, 2005 in Nashville, Tennessee. Named in honor of New York's fabled Tin Pan Alley, Tin Pan South is America's largest music festival dedicated to songs and songwriters. The festival highlights Nashville as the world capital of songwriting and draws attention to the wide variety of songwriters who live and work here today. In addition, the festival underscores the rich cultural heritage of Tennessee.
Club Show performances are the highlight of Tin Pan South with over 70 shows at venues all over Nashville throughout the week. "Tin Pan South presents a once-a-year opportunity to hear the best songwriters in the world performing the radio hits of the future," says Tin Pan South festival Director, Susan Stewart.
Night after night, you will find the best songwriters in the world performing "in-the-round" in intimate settings, and attendees will be moved by the heroes and the stories behind the hits. Legendary writers, prolific hitmakers, up-and-coming new talent, and rare surprise performances from stars electrify each night of the festival. What's more, Tin Pan South attracts writers from across the country and the Atlantic Ocean, from Los Angeles and New York, to London and beyond.
Past Tin Pan South performers include Kenny Loggins, Gordon Lightfoot, Donna Summer, Loretta Lynn, Art Garfunkel, America, Jimmy Webb, Townes Van Zandt, Mac Davis, Lamont Dozier, Lisa Loeb, Kitty Wells & Johnnie Wright, Betty Comden & Adolph Green, Graham Nash, Carole King, Melissa Manchester, Ray Evans & Jay Livingston, Graham Gouldman, Tom T.
