(The Other Music Industry) - From December 2-4, 2005, Internet marketing experts will teach independent record labels and musicians how to maximize their time and minimize their efforts with a proven, step-by-step process that will allow them to leverage the power of the Internet to sell more cds, downloads, merchandise and more.

The three-day T.O.M.I. event will show musicians and record labels how to optimize their websites and online marketing efforts. The event will deliver tools and strategies to show artists through step by step methods on exactly how to build an online fan community and a flawless marketing funnel.

Attendees will learn useful tips and tools on how to make their music become part of 790 million downloads sold online. "It's about using proven Internet Marketing systems to sell music online" says Stephen Pierce, co-host of the T.O.M.I seminar.

The T.O.M.I. event, to be held in Ann Arbor, Mich., will offer a world-class lineup of presenters speaking on such topics as; Online relationship building, Permission based email marketing, Website traffic generation, Buzz/viral marketing, Step-by-step software to easily add audio and video to your sites, Podcasting; How to track your online sales to be Nielsen SoundScan compliant, Online fan database building, Keyword research and pay-per-click advertising, Internet radio, fan-trap pages, Web site optimizing tips to increase online sales of your album, Mastering proven Internet Marketing systems to sell your music online, and much more!

'Due to rapid growth in online sales of "digital tracks", in 2005, in the U.S.,"album sales" are down by more than 8 percent compared to 2004,' said Ethan Smith of the Wall Street Journal. However, 'digital' downloads sales are up pointing towards a new trend that unsigned musicians are shifting their focus from trying to land a record contract to getting their own personal website selling their digital singles and albums for surfers on the Internet to purchase and the millions of people who own iPods.

'We've sold over 10 million iPods to date,' according to Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple. Apple expects $2.9 billion and earnings from Ipods sales proving that there is a huge market for independent artists and record labels to take advantage of.

The T.O.M.I. event is based on proven online marketing strategies that work. For example, Digital music pioneer, Prince, was one of the first artists that 'fired' his formal record label, Warner Music. 'People are under the collective hallucination that you have to sell X amount of records to be a success,' Prince said. He took back his artistic control and ownership rights to his master recordings and started his Internet NPG Music Club Site, where his members have access a few unreleased downloadable songs and videos per month for a low membership fee.

In 1998, Prince independently released his album 'Crystal Ball' and sold 250,000 copies and more than half were direct sales from his website straight to the public. In an interview, Prince said that he made more money selling fewer albums but keeping 100 percent of the profits than selling 1 million albums with a major record label deal.

The speakers at the T.O.M.I. event are experts in selling downloadable products and will show attendees how to get the same kind of results. The seminar will offer proven strategies to allow musicians to launch a successful music membership site that provides a monthly residual income, where they keep 100 percent of their profits.

Giants like Microsoft Corp. are trying to get into the music download game as well, by possibly offering a music subscription based service in the future. According to the International Federation of The Photonographic Industry, digital sales (including sales of cell phone ringtones), tripled in 2004 to 790 million, or a 6 percent of total music sales. Ethan Smith of the Wall Street Journal wrote that these figures are getting the attention of artists from around the world. In addition, Napster Inc., Yahoo Inc., RealNetworks, and Apple's ITunes are selling music downloads by the millions each year.

There is no better time for musicians and record labels to realize that they can make the big bucks online by selling their music on their websites. T.O.M.I. seminar presenters have created a proven step-by-step process that can help any record label or artist grow their fan base, market like a pro, and sell more of their music online. 'Smaller record labels and independent artists can finally live the dream of making money out of their passion for music,' said Theodore Watts, co-host of T.O.M.I seminar.

Artists and record labels must act now because 'the digital music business is being driven by the world's top five markets - the US, Japan, UK, Germany and France - but that is expected to change as digital downloading spreads to many other markets in the coming months,' said eMarketer.com.
'I can show musicians how they can turn their musical 'hobby' into a well paying career in the music industry by marketing themselves online,' said Ty Cohen, co-host of T.O.M.I seminar.
In addition, attendees will receive over $2,000 in free bonuses; all meals, snacks, and beverages will be provided free of charge.

"My purpose in being one of the hosts of 'The Other Music Industry Seminar' is to provide anybody serious about succeeding in the music industry with an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity where they can learn from the best in the business how to quickly and easily make it big online with their music. We offer a proven process, little investment, and minimal effort, and I'm confident we will over-deliver," Watts said.
