Sydney, AU (Universal
Music Australia) - Aussie rock gurus,
Grinspoon have finished off a long weekend of celebrations, by performing their latest single, Sweet as Sugar on Rove Live last night.
The group took home their first Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA) Award, for Best Rock Album for Thrills, Kills and Sunday Pills at the 2005 Annual ARIA Awards on Sunday night. The success is ‘sweet as sugar' for the Grinners who have had nine previous ARIA nominations.
The win comes for Phil, Pat, Joe and Kris as they celebrate the big 1-0 with the release of their Greatest hits album, Grinspoon: Best in Show released on November 7.
'Since the start, through all the shit, and right up to this day, Grinspoon have been four guys who have believed in ‘All for one and one for all',' Phil says. 'That's the way it's always been and always will be'.
For whether it's been the blitz of DCX3, the sweet screech of More Than You Are, the primal stomp of Black Friday, or the cracked balladry of Chemical Heart, every Aussie has a Grinspoon moment on file.
That credo is in every shake, rattle and roll on Best in Show. And if Grinspoon have their way – and as brand new song Sweet as Sugar proves in spades - you'll hear it thundering from pubs, clubs and festival stages loud ‘n' proud, night on night, for another 10 years.
