LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/ MySpace) - MySpace, Americas most trafficked Web site, will host a live webcast today of the Projekt Revolution concert featuring some of the worlds most popular bands including two-time Grammy winners Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, and Taking Back Sunday. The event, beginning at 1:30 pm PT, will stream live today as an exclusive MySpace LIVE! event presented by Now What (https://myspace.com/nowwhat). The six hour concert, part of the 4th Annual Projekt Revolution tour, is hosted by music industry veteran Matt Pinfield and will be available exclusively for MySpace users live via Now Whats MySpace profile.
'MySpace LIVE! provides users with the unique opportunity to be part of the Projekt Revolution experience without actually being there,' said Josh Brooks, Vice President of Marketing and Content at MySpace. 'Were thrilled to host the groundbreaking six hour stream of the concert to share with millions of MySpace members.'
MySpace LIVE!, which brings select concerts live to the MySpace community via streaming online video, will give MySpace users watching at home the opportunity to submit real-time messages through an on-site message ticker. Projekt Revolution is the third in a series of MySpace LIVE! shows, with previous concerts having featured world renowned DJ Paul Oakenfold and most recently, urban icons T.I., Twista, and Lupe Fiasco.
"We are very excited about this opportunity to put our NowWhat.com campaign in front of the millions of MySpace users in such an engaging way," said Ed Gold, Advertising Director for State Farm. "By tying in with Projekt Revolution, sponsoring MySpace LIVE!, and thru our NowWhat.com site, our goal is to enhance and/or change the perception of our brand to the MySpace audience.'
In a MySpace LIVE! first, five fans at the Projekt Revolution concert, armed with ComVu PocketCaster Nokia N95 compatible cell phones, will take video footage of the concert which will be incorporated into the live stream on MySpace. ComVus PocketCaster lets anyone with a compatible cell phone stream live video from their phone to the internet with a press of a button. Simplynew Studios will provide onsite production for the live stream and integrate the cell phone-captured video footage in real-time. Simplynew Studios is a pioneer in live streaming production and broadcasting and have been the production team behind every MySpace LIVE! event to date.
To ensure the highest quality audio is captured for MySpace members watching from home, digital audio workstations using AMDs Opteron processor technology will be deployed throughout the venue. NowWhat.com will be on-site with an interactive booth where concert goers can get a free online photo, win great prizes, and pick up a net decoder card to enter in daily and grand prize sweepstakes held online. Concert goers can log on to NowWhat.com after the show to watch exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the tour.
The Projekt Revolution concert tour will stop at fifteen different cities nationwide from August 14 to September 3, 2007.
