Omar's first work for orchestra, "From Our Mother", will debut on Friday, January 24, 2003 at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland, California with the Oakland East Bay Symphony under the direction of Michael Morgan. "From Our Mother" is a co-commission of Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and the Oakland East Bay Symphony.
