NEW YORK (Columbia Records) - Columbia Records recording artist Patti Scialfa will embark on her first national tour as a solo artist with five very special concerts in September:
Wednesday, September 15, Asbury Park, NJ - Paramount Theatre
Friday, September 17, Boston, MA - Paradise
Sunday, September 19, Philadelphia, PA - Theatre of Living Arts
Tuesday, September 21, New York, NY - Bowery Ballroom
Saturday, September 25, Los Angeles, CA - The Roxy

Scialfa, who is touring with her full band, is scheduled to appear on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' on Friday, September 24 and will tape an episode for the new season of the Daytime Emmy-winning 'Ellen DeGeneres Show' on September 23 (airdate TBD).

The tour and television appearances are in celebration of 23rd Street Lullaby, the first album of new music from Patti Scialfa since the artist's critically-acclaimed 1993 release, Rumble Doll. Released on June 15, 23rd Street Lullaby debuted at No 5 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart tracking new and developing artists.

In a media blitz surrounding the release of her album, Patti Scialfa appeared on a variety of television programs including the 'Late Show with David Letterman,' 'Today,' 'Late Night with Conan O'Brien,' 'The View,' 'CBS News Sunday Morning,' and 'The Early Show.'

With all words and music written by Patti Scialfa, 23rd Street Lullaby has drawn some of the strongest praise of the artist's career.
In his four star review of the album for Rolling Stone, music writer Anthony DeCurtis raved, 'In its clear-eyed joyfulness and unpretentious appeal, 23rd Street Lullaby evokes a woman not haunted by her past but enriched by it.' The Chicago Sun-Times gave the album three stars praising it as ' ... a sparkling little gem' while the Newhouse Wire Service heralded Patti's return: ' ... she's back with the superior 23rd Street Lullaby.'
Entertainment Weekly gave the album a 'B+,' praising the ' ... inviting, appealing earnestness to Scialfa's bruised-soul folk rock,' while the New York Post, in a three-and-one-half star review, observed that 'Scialfa communicates a palpable sense of longing lodged somewhere within a hard-won honesty.'
Co-produced by Patti Scialfa and Steve Jordan (who recently served as musical director for the PBS series, 'Martin Scorsese Presents the Blues' and has produced albums by Keith Richards, the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and others), 23rd Street Lullaby showcases an ensemble featuring guitarist Nils Lofgren, vocalist Soozie Tyrell, bassist Willie Weeks, keyboardist Clifford Carter, avant-garde guitarist Marc Ribot, cellist Jane Scarpantoni, drummer/co-producer Steve Jordan, and others.
