LONDON, UK (PRWeek/ The SPA Way) - Atomic Kitten's
Liz McClarnon is joining a host of media types and public relations people at "The
Friends of Asia Mega Sale", a fabulous charity shopping event at the suitably glamorous Marquee, Battersea Park - venue for the London Fashion Week.
Liz will be cutting the ribbon on this unique event at 10.00 a.m.
PRWeek, the bible of the public relations industry, has persuaded agencies and companies across the country to clear out their cupboards for charity. One-off bargains include DVDs and CDs signed by the stars, designer clothes and accessories, books signed by leading authors, beauty products, West end theatre tickets, dinners at top London restaurants, consumer goods, hotels and flights all at knock down prices.
Bargain hunters will also have the chance to bid in a blind auction for a weekend's use of the 'Shaguar' - Austin Power's favourite means of pulling power, a cricket bat signed by the English cricket team, a tour of Wembley stadium, artworks and many more high ticket and unusual items. Winning bids will be announced at 3.00 p.m.
"This is a fun event with a very serious purpose. The funds from this sale will help the DEC meet their longer term objectives for rebuilding of lives in the region. We hope that the public will flock to take the opportunity of picking up some amazing and quite unique bargains, while also helping the victims in the affected area" says PRWeek Editor-in-Chief Kate Nicholas.
Sara Pearson, CEO of The SPA Way, who has donated her time to organise the event added, "This is the first time the PR industry has come together as a united force with the aim of raising a considerable sum of money for charity. There has been a tremendous response from PR agencies and their clients all keen to do their bit to help make this a terrific money-raising event. Everyone is welcome."
