NEW YORK (RoadRunner Records) - In case you didn't know, Chimaira is back at Spider Studios in the greater Cleveland area, recording their new CD. In fact, all the drums have been tracked (those, however, were tracked at a joint called Anteup...the same place where where the Cleveland-based Midwestern Rap/Hip-Hop crew
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony lay down their dope beats when recording...fo' real, son...but that ain't neither here nor there...)
What IS here and there, is the upcoming 04/2005 issue of Revolver magazine, where you will find Chimara frontman Mark Hunter featured in their Drink Of Choice spotlight...Mark opting for the Red-Headed Slut. But, of course. You can check out a shot of it in the band's PHOTO GALLERY.
Also here and there, Chimaira's website - www.chimaira.com. Check it out for a video clip of new drummer Kevin Talley laying down the law at the above mentioned Anteup studios...and check it out for some upcoming April Chimaira dates...and check below for Kevin's formal 'hello':
Greetings fellow Chimaira fans!
This is Kevin Talley, Chimaira's new drummer. Sorry I haven't had the chance to formally introduce myself. When I got the call to join Chimaira 7 months ago I was blown away. I was being offered a gig with one of the best and most brutal metal bands in the scene today. Since joining the band, I have been overwhelmed with Chimaira's level of brotherhood and professionalism. This is truly a deserving reality for all my years of hard work and dedication to my dream. After touring the states, Japan, and Australia, we started writing and recording our new album. We have been hard at work for the past 5 months and I just wrapped up my drum tracks last week. The drumming on this record is arguably my best work to date.
To all the death metal heads who have followed me through my years in Dying Fetus and Misery Index, I thank you for the support and know you will be just as stoked about my drumming in Chimaira.
To my band mates, Chimaira fans and friends around the world, I thank you for your warm welcome and appreciation. I look forward to the completion of the new record and of course to getting back out on the road. There are a lot of ice-cold beers to be drunk with you all!
